Faye was a strong Christian woman and longtime member of Bea- ver Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was born in Niota, TN, one of 4 girls. It was love at first site when she met Jim Harbin. They soon married and moved to Powell to start a family.
They worked side by side to build Harbin Enterprises. She raised three sons, Rick, Terry, and Dennis. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren Shawn and Jessica. Faye worked in her community as a member of Ladies in Construction, Ladies Auxiliary, Powell Lions Club, and Karns Republican Club. She loved gardening and being with family.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Harbin, sons, Terry and Dennis, parents, Ethel and Stanley Frisbie, and sisters Ruth Mull and Eva Grace Toomey. Left to mourn her death are son, Rick (Glenda) Harbin, sister Kay Grady of Athens, and grand- children Shawn Harbin and Jessica Harbin. She also leaves nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends. The family would like to send a note of appreciation to Beverly Park Place and to Preferred Care, Karla, Chandra, and Sissy for their excellent care. David was born on September 1, 1932, and raised in LaFollette, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Marion and Elizabeth (Robinette) Shelby. David graduated with his B.S. from Carson-Newman College and his M.S.
from Michigan State University. He was also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theologi- cal Seminary in Dallas, Texas. David served in the United States Army. For the past fifty years, David has lived in Knoxville, where he was an active member of First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Hartsfield Shelby, and his brother-in-law, Royce (Russ) Dunham.
He is survived by his sister, Betty Ruth Shelby Dunham of Knoxville; his niece, Beth (Barry) Nelson of Nashville; his niece, Susan (Tim) Tucker of Knox- ville; and his great-nephews, Seth and Reed Tucker of Knoxville. David will be interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in LaFollette. The family would like to thank the staff at Ben Atchley Tennessee State Home for their excellent care of David. She was married to the late James Paul Smiddy for 64 years. She was the last living sibling of 9. Glenna Faubion Smiddy KNOXVILLE Skiff Eddington Wager of Knox- ville, TN died October 13, 2021 after a short illness.
He is survived by his sisters and their husbands: Kathy and Bill Sprague and Ellen and Nick Paplea- cos of Marietta, GA, and Buffie and Mark Feidler of Atlanta, GA; his niece and nephews Elizabeth Feidler, Alex Feidler, Ted Papleacos, and William Papleacos, and his Cheri Lynn Martin of Knoxville. Skiff was born on December 16, 1960 and grew up in Atlanta. He took off after high school to the Rocky Mountains where he spent several years working at the national parks. He loved being a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Silver Palm Eagle Scout at sixteen. His three weeks in an Outward Bound program in high school opened up the world of the outdoors and survival for him and he liked nothing more than hiking, camping and biking in the Smoky Mountains with the many rescue dogs he adopted.
To fund his hobby Skiff had a successful career in the IT industry. He was with Xerox in Houston, MCA Records in Nashville, Universal Studios in Los Angeles and Scripps Networks in Knoxville where he was Chief Information Officer. For many years Skiff had his own consulting business and was an industry expert in Digital Asset Management. Skiff served on the boards of several IT start ups, coached soccer and was a Boy Scout troop leader. The family will hold a private memorial service.
Skiff Eddington Wager William Boyd Walker, 82, passed at Methodist Medical Center on Mon- day, December 13, 2021. Boyd was retired from Rexnord of Clinton. He was a member of Hillvale Baptist Church where he served in many roles throughout his lifetime including cutting, mill- ing, and constructing the original Hillvale Baptist Church sanctuary as a young man. Boyd was born in the small town of Wheat, Tennessee which is now called Oak Ridge and the Bethel Valley or X-10 area. Preceded in death by Parents Elbert and Edna (Anderson) Walker.
